The Wilmington Family Counseling Service, Inc. helps with any of the following types of problems:
- A depressed young woman who can't sleep or eat
- A six-year-old boy who is 'immature' and can't sit still in school
- A recently separated woman who feels overwhelmed coping with life on her own
- A fifteen-year-old girl who has run away from home
- A dual-career couple who feel their needs aren't being met by their marriage
- An adult whose alcohol use is interfering with work and family life
- A woman who is afraid to leave home for fear of passing out
- A father who can't control his anger
- A young man experimenting with drugs
- A nine-year-old who never does what he is told
- A man entering mid-life who wonders if life holds nothing more
- An adult who was abused as a child and whose life still is affected by childhood experiences
- A twenty-year old male addicted to opioids
Treatments
Therapists at the Wilmington Family Counseling Service work with the individual, couple, or family to seek a new understanding of the problem and new means of coping with it. This exploration often lasts from five to ten sessions of fifty minutes each but may continue over a more extended period of time.
Wilmington Family Counseling Service provides individual counseling for substance abuse, including a full Substance Abuse Evaluation for courts, probation, DUI’s, and Lawyers.
Appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 9 pm, Fridays from 8 am to 7 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm.
