Staff-Therapists:
Angela Gautier, LMHC
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gentle Reprocessing™. My philosophy on therapy is that everyone has innate strengths and problem-solving abilities. As a therapist, my goal is to offer all of the knowledge, resources and skills I have gained in my training to help clients realize and utilize their own inner strength. I strongly believe in a solution-based focus to therapy, working with my clients to find the solutions to their problems and encouraging them to take the next step in solving them.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
In my experience, CBT helps clients recognize the content of their thoughts (cognitive) in relation to their actions (behavior). CBT, therefore, focuses mainly on the present time, the “here and now,” and encourages clients to stop thinking about the past, which is fixed, and to concentrate on the present, which is more adaptable and open to change and suggestion. This form of supportive therapy is successful in helping clients overcome a large number of concerns, including: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, panic, post traumatic stress disorder, phobias and fears.
Gentle Reprocessing™
Gentle Reprocessing™ is a complete therapy made up of a unique combination of guided imagery, inner child work, cognitive therapy and EMDR components. It is designed to gently and quickly dissolve trauma symptoms that prevent clients from living the lives they know they deserve. Gentle Reprocessing™ reduces symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, OCD, phobias and abuse. Gentle Reprocessing™ has also been used successfully for anger issues.
Training
I received a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston. I did my first internship at Emerson’s North 5 Unit where I worked with individual clients on a locked in-patient psychiatric unit. My next internship was spent at The Edinburg Center Crisis Team gaining valuable experience in working with clients in acute crisis as well as determining level of care options. I worked at the Edinburg Center Crisis Team after graduation for three years until my present employment as a Mental Health Professional at MCI-Concord where I work with clients, individually and in groups, to build skills for re-integration into the community as valuable members of society.
