“Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it.”
                                                -Helen Keller-
I use the following types of therapy in my counseling practice.
Solution Focused Therapy: I feel it is important to focus on change and the possibilities by building on strengths, skills and resources. I am respectfully curious and like to look at what is right and what is working in a person’s life. I like to use humor and consider myself creative.

Person Centered Approach:
This approach is built on the concept that the therapist trusts that individuals can set their own goals. I want the client to choose the frequency and length of their therapy; to talk or to be silent; to decide what they are comfortable to explore. In other words feel safe and not pressured.

Cognitive Therapy:
I feel that people respond to life’s events. In therapy I work with how the individual perceives, interpret and assign meaning to their life’s events. I will examine the individual’s beliefs about himself, other people and the world.

Behavior Therapy:
In this therapy I emphasize corrective learning experiences in which the individual acquire new coping skills, improve communication, or learn to break maladaptive habits and overcome self- defeating emotional conflicts.

My training:
I received a Bachelor Degree in Human Services from Lesley College in Cambridge

My Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology is from Framingham State College
I hold certificates as a Substance Abuse Counselor from Middlesex Community College and a Special Needs Teacher Certification from The State of Massachusetts

My counseling work experiences have been in Hospitals, Courts, Outpatient Clinic, Correctional Institute and private practice.
