Staff-Therapists:

Patricia Cline, LICSW

I am a licensed psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience working with adults and couples.  Although I can address a wide range of problems, my special interest and expertise focus on those who are struggling to manage anxiety, depression, and addiction.  I work with clients to help them be better able to manage life’s challenges, increase their self-esteem, and improve their communication skills.  In my work I favor a holistic approach, where all aspects of the person – mental, emotional, behavioral, physical – are addressed, and I employ a blend of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness methods, to enable people to learn to shift their thinking, change their behavior, and live in the present with a more balanced and a deeper sense of well being.

My training is in psychiatric social work.  I have an MSW from Simmons College and am licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (LICSW).  I believe that there is always more to learn, and I have received additional training in understanding and treating trauma, techniques of cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness practice.  My initial training was in medical and psychiatric hospital settings; more recently I have been working in a partial hospital setting that specializes in the treatment of  “dual diagnosis” (clients struggling with both addiction and psychiatric conditions), where I conduct assessments and provide individual, group, and couples/family services to adults age 18 and aver.  I also have 10 years of experience as a public school teacher that has given me a fuller understanding of human development and how we are shaped by our early life experiences.
