Hello, I am a licensed mental health counselor whose work focuses in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Existential Philosophy. I strongly believe that it is each person’s responsibility to find meaning and happiness in their own lives. Through counseling, I believe that individuals begin to utilize their own strengths and coping skills to lead a more satisfying life. Through our past events and hope for the future, people can focus on their present and begin to better appreciate their own daily experiences. My philosophy about counseling has helped people dealing with depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorders, and people struggling with substance abuse.

I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family therapy from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2005. Since graduating, I moved back to Massachusetts and have a variety of clinical experiences. I have worked with people of all ages, backgrounds, and with different issues. I have worked in outpatient settings, substance abuse treatment programs, and in the criminal justice system.

Working with Children
Before working in the mental health field, I was an early elementary school teacher for six years. Along with my clinical experience with children and families, my teaching background has helped develop my clinical skills. I believe that parents and other family members play a role in counseling with children. It is my goal to help families begin to strengthen their communication skills to help cope with any situation. I also hope to provide children with the language to express themselves and begin to develop their own skills to deal with different emotions.

Thank you!

My hope is that anyone that enters counseling can benefit from the experience.
